I am going to show you some excellent sources for ezine ads at just $2.00 each or less and show you how to get the very best results from using them. They are effective and you will get results if you follow a planned strategy for success. 2Bucks an Ad Advertising http://www.add2it.com/go/to.cgi?l=2-bucks-an-ad TwoDollar Ads http://www.add2it.com/go/to.cgi?l=two-dollar-ads First of all, you need a good business, product or service. Shouldn't that go without saying? Secondly, you must have a good ad that tempts, teases and grabs attention. Third, your follow-up or website must do it's job of selling, but that's beyond the scope of this article. Avoid using "canned" ads and well-known program URLs, especially here because these services are busy. Your ad could end up being published right next to an almost identical one, because they are run in order of "first come, first served". It HAS already happened. Which would you click? Then follow a plan like a military campaign - How exactly? OK, each of these services have several groups of ezines. When you decide what you can afford, you'll choose to advertise in a certain group or groups. Work out now what you can afford to spend on a weekly basis and stick to that budget. Here's how to get the best from the system: Study the lists and look at samples or at least descriptions of the ezines so you can pick what looks like it will be the best match with your offer first. Especially if you order multiple groups, make a note of the ezine names and which group they are in. Prepare your ad and make sure that you track it. Read my article on tracking http://www.tucats-design.com/free-content/tracking.html. Code your ad so that you will be able to identify: => The advertising program name => The group your ad was published in => The week number of your ad (see below) Place your ad in the group or groups you chose, get your confirmation messages and make a note of the dates your ads will run and where. Back of a cigarette packet will do, spreadsheet would be better! One week later. Irrespective of whether your ads have run or not, place the SAME ads again in the SAME groups. Don't be tempted to move around aimlessly or to "spice up" your ad. Some ezines will have long wait times, so if you book again one week on, you'll most likely be in line for the following week after your first ad. Nope, you will never make millions off one ad. You must repeat, repeat, repeat ... Repeat step 4 for at least 4 weeks in total. On the fifth week move onto another group or groups that look good for your target. This time, remember to change your tracking code, not just for the week, but also for the group / program. Keep rotating through the groups on this place once a week for 4 weeks, schedule. It WILL take a long time to test all if you only buy ads in one group a week, but I promise that if you do it this way, the little money you can spend, will be spent wisely. As responses come in, count them and note them against the relevant ads on your schedule. Look at the results you are getting. => Do week 1, 2, 3 or 4 ads pull better results? => Do certain groups generate more responses? => Add your own findings When those responses begin turning into sales, start putting the money back in to additional groups. When you are through ALL, go back over your results tracking and find the best. Pick a short-list of maybe the top five groups that have performed best for you. Which week got the highest return? Your final strategy should be to place THAT number weeks ads in rotation in those five groups and just repeat, repeat, repeat ... Sound boring to you? Think it's a worthless exercise? OK then, try it another way. Place loads of different ads in any old group, at any time, not necessarily the same ones twice and watch your money go down the drain. Try the above, your bank manager will thank me if it works! There, that's my 2 cents worth on 2 dollar advertising! PS: If you are not convinced that this is worthwhile, read their testimonials. We used to say that to business owners and get strange looks in return. "Why do I need a web site?" the manager of a pizza restaurant once asked. Of course, we now see a very large number of customers looking up their neighborhood pizza maker with search engines. They will try Yahoo or HotBot before turning to the more traditional Yellow Pages. The restaurant owner no longer wonders why he should be online. As more and more businesses get their own web sites, we're seeing a number of very smart ways to integrate an online presence with your existing business. Here are the top five ways. 1. Your web site gives customers a way to quickly search through your big selection. If you have an auto parts store, you may have many square feet of products to choose from. You may have hundreds more items that can be ordered and delivered quickly. In the past, it might have been difficult for customers to easily find what they were looking for, or even be aware that you could get it for them. Your web site makes it easy to type in the name of a product, then see those products with descriptions and your prices. There are a number of fine online catalog software applications. If your selection isn't Walmart-sized, I suggest using a simple search engine to help people find what they want among your pages. Try the free search service at atomz.com. 2. Use your web site to make it easy to find updates in your rapidly changing inventory. We often buy computers and musical equipment from PCMall.com and MusiciansFriend.com. Both companies provide some of the lowest prices in their industries. They do so by buying up discontinued items. For companies like these, a web site is essential. By the time their print catalog is published, many of the items are either dwindling or long gone. Their web sites can immediately tell customers if the product is still available, even listing how many units are still in the warehouse. 3. Use your web site to augment your print catalog. We just gave one example, but here are more. Mailers, sales letters, and catalogs are expensive to print and even more costly to mail. Expand on the limited space you can devote to an item in print by including many more details on your web site. You may even be able to reduce how often you mail print materials. Replace some of your mailings with email reminders, an email newsletter, and references to your always updated web site. 4. Use a web site when you can't get distribution. For years, Kevin couldn't get his own business going because of distribution problems. No matter what he tried, the cost of getting his products and services to customers was too expensive for a new, start-up business. The Web represents a huge revolution in distribution. All kinds of services and information can be delivered to customers anywhere in the world via the Internet. The cost is almost free. Look for products and services you can distribute from your web site. You many have existing products (like advice to customers) that are better delivered from your web site. There are probably a host of new things you can sell once your web site is set up. 5. Use a web site when your business is too small to market any other way. Almost everyone has gotten an idea for a business, but never followed through with it because the cost of start-up was too high. With a web site, you don't necessarily need a storefront, employees, or anything more than a home phone (and a computer, of course!). With that comes one last reason why you need to think wisely and use a web site in your business. If you don't, your competitors will. The best answer(s): ------------------- From: Laura Lombardi "Using title, description and keyword meta tags is imperative if you want to be effectively listed with search engines. Who in their right mind will click on an untitled page with a garbled description? The title should make good use of several keywords, and those keywords should appear in the page content to boost their relevancy. Don't use keywords that have nothing to do with your content, they will only get you a lower ranking. Use the plural form of your keywords so that users searching for singular or plural will be more likely to find a match. Don't repeat a keyword too many times, especially one after the other, since they may be considered spamming by the SEs." Comment: These are good META basics that everybody should follow. This and other devices allow Microsoft & TopText to work through your browser, hijacking your pages content. [KEY WORDS] It highlights [in yellow] all the keywords which they have sold to others to appear on your page. A SmartTag link, looks like that squiggly line that appears under a mis-spelling in MS Word. Visitors to your page or site who click on these active links are then sent without your permission or knowledge to the thief's site. Giving the surfer the impression that you are recommending or are associated with them. EG: Your site may be a kids books store - LINKED NOW - TO A PORN SITE!!!!!!! I repeat this is all done without your knowledge & at your expense. [LOSS OF SALES & REPUTATION] ** TO STOP THIS PRACTICE YOU MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING CODE ** ON EACH & EVERY PAGE - ON YOUR SITE. " Comment: This really seems to be a big problem right now since more and more webmasters start complaining about this. Just in case I will add this tag in all my web pages. -< - >- From: Carl King "For those not so technically inclined we should define meta tags first. "Meta" is a term that means information about information. This is a bit "techie" so read it a few times if you need to, or save it and print it. Meta tags are HTML tags that can be put in the HEAD section of a webpage by the author or webmaster. They are tags that tell the search engines information about your website. There are several types of Meta tags and they should be used in tandom to create a co-hesive representation of the purpose or theme of your website. Three very important tags for every web site would be the "keyword", "description" and "MSSmartTagsPreventParsing" Meta tags. You really CANNOT IGNORE the role these tags play in marketing your website! You had better learn them! They are: o&o------[Techie Stuff here] Keyword Meta tags: The keywords are words that you insert in the meta tag to give the search engines information on how to index your website in their databases. This would be a comma separated list just like the sample above. You should use keywords that are very relevant to your product or service, and you should use keywords that real people would use to search for something on the web. Description Meta tags: The description Meta tag is the short paragraph the viewer will read on the search results page to help them decide if your website is worth visiting. A well written description will pull them in if it is very clearly written and gets your website theme or purpose across effectively. Be careful about using "sales-ish" jargon and do not use initial uppercase letters in your words unless they are proper nouns. At some search engine companies, real people read your submission and will reject it if it is too outrageous. They will NOT correct it for you. Smart tag rendering prevention Meta tag: If you do not use this one, someone COULD and WILL steal your traffic! This tag should be on every page on your website. This prevents a new technology used by Microsoft, from inserting "information icons" next to words on your web pages. The words would have relevance to something on another webite. A viewer can click on the icons and go to the other website that has nothing to do with yours. Your traffic has effectively been stolen from you! This technology is turned on by default on the newest windows operating systems, so you have to disable it by using this tag. Other not so interesting Meta tags: Author Meta tag: Of course this is me, the author. This could be used to make a name for yourself, although it is not very effective. Generator Meta tag: The program you used to create the web pages. Most programs insert this automatically. And Meta tags the browser needs, to define the type of document it is receiving from the webserver. A good html editor will place this one in automatically. Life is good with a good editor. o&o-------[End of Techie Stuff] Finding good keywords and descriptions: If you want to find out what other high traffic sites related to yours are using for these tags, then you can look at them. You can view the source code of the web pages. The overall best way to find the high traffic sites would be to go to a search engine...say Yahoo, and do a search on a keyword you think is worthy of using on your site. Some techie stuff...viewing the meta tags on other web sites: If you use Netscape you click on VIEW|PAGE SOURCE and a new window will open displaying the source code of the page. The Meta tags are almost always in the top section of the page between the and tags. If you are using Internet Explorer, you can click on VIEW|SOURCE and the same thing will happen. You can copy and paste the meta tags to your favorite text editor and compile a list of keywords to refer to. I am not telling you to copy keywords or descriptions verbatum, simply compile a list to use as a reference for keyword relevance to your site. Keywords NOT found on other sites may be more relevant to your site than what you found. Use your better judgement. ALWAYS test your keywords on search engines to find their relevance. What next? OK...So now you have your Meta tags are on your pages. Next you need to submit your site to the search engines, and the search engines will scan your pages and give you a listing based on whatever criteria they use to define your placement in their databases. Most search engines use different criteria so you will not get the same listing at each one. Some may even reject your listing because they do not use, or like your tags. The search engine topic is too enormous for this little article so I won't even start with it. Beware! Search engines do not like some pages at all! One page type to beware of is the web page that automatically redirects to a script or another location. Most web spiders and robots cannot read these pages because they are dynamic and don't exist in a real "static" file or page. Putting Meta tags on these page types is a waste of time. Let me give you an example: http://allmybooks.vstorelibrary.com is the link to my online bookstore....However, if you follow the link guess where you end up? Try it and see. This URL cannot be indexed at a search engine because it is built out of too many component parts that change all the time. If you are using an affiliate website that does this, you will have difficulty getting good search engine rankings with your Meta tags. It might even be impossible. You will need to rely on other methods of ranking your site with the search engines. Overall, take your time and try to understand this stuff. It will pay off sooner than you think, maybe next month, maybe a year from now. This method of learning takes time but is more effective than the mass submission tools that are available everywhere.
